Public Realm, a visual communications agency, was founded in 2019 by Seattle natives, Kirby Ellis and Shannon Pleas, who now call Brooklyn, NY their home.

Ellis and Pleas believe that told right, a story can change the world. It can bring complete, seemingly divided, strangers together to rally around a cause, product or brand. Told right, a story can connect people and create loyalty around shared universal values. Ellis and Pleas have their own shared values including sustainability, human rights, equality, diversity and inclusion.

Now, at a time in history where we are physically divided, the human spirit craves meaningful connection. That’s why Public Realm felt it so important to call upon our community of artists to share their stories of what home means to them during these isolating, historic times.

We hope the stories in our first issue will bring you some sense of human connection and reflection about what home means to you.
